In 1986 Lorraine moved from Los Angeles, CA to Santa Fe, NM. She began her clothing design and construction company shortly after arriving in Santa Fe. She focused on custom bridal designs and evening wear. As time moved on, she expanded her business to include women and men’s day wear, including tailoring and millinery construction. Today her company continues to design and construct women and men’s clothing and has further expanded the offerings to include sewing instruction. Her student, male and female, ranging in age from 9 years old to seniors and all ages in between. Lorraine is frequently requested to teach design and construction classes at various stores in Santa Fe.

Prior to moving to Santa Fe she was an instructor and administrator at the Gemological Institute of America. Lorraine was an instructor in the Residency Program specializing in Colored Stones and Gem Identification. She expanded her teaching experience to include Colored Stone Grading, Jewelry Retailing, Jewelry Display, and the Pearl courses. She traveled both nationally and internationally instructing distance-based classes in Diamonds, Colored Stones, and Pearls. A major contribution Lorraine made to the Institute’s curriculum was the rewriting of the Pearl course. Shortly before she left the GIA she was working as Assistant Director of Operations. Instructor, holding licenses for Advanced Ground Instructor and Ground Instrument Instructor. She is rated in single engine, multi-engine, and experimental aircraft; she holds high- performance aircraft and tail-wheel endorsements. Lorraine has had the privilege to fly aircraft from an aerobatic rated Citabria to a North American T-6 and North American P-51 Mustang. Lorraine continues to maintain her vintage automotive racing license. While she is not actively racing her racing experience includes racing her 1964 Sunbeam Tiger, a 275 GBT Ferrari, and a Crosley Morris. She has participated in races nationally and internationally. In her leisure Lorraine enjoys playing the piano and her cello. She lives in Santa Fe with her beloved Kentucky made husband Merrill and her tuxedo cat, Vincent.
